What are the stages of pregnancy? There are no hard and fast rules for the stages of pregnancy. Each individual is different and each one carries her baby to term differently. Stages of pregnancy are similar to each individual but the days of each stage differ. The stages of pregnancy are broadly classified into three different parts. The first trimester, second trimester and the third trimester are the 3 Stages of pregnancy.

The first trimester is considered as the first stages of pregnancy. Although you may not notice many changes in the initial stages of pregnancy there is actually a lot of changes going on in your body. In the initial stages of pregnancy i.e. the first month the baby is the size of an embryo. It is tiny and does not have a particular shape. During the second month it gets some distinguishable features. The fingers and toes take shape. The baby is as large as a kidney bean.

In the third month of the first semester which is still considered the initial stages or pregnancy you may notice a small protruding belly. The baby grows to 3 inches in length and weighs one ounce. You may feel tired and nausea begins to creep in at the initial stages of pregnancy. In order to ensure a healthy baby you should supplement yourself with the right food and vitamins in the initial stages of pregnancy. In the first stage of pregnancy, you should consult your gynecologist who will guide you on food and other related examinations. Various tests are done by the doctor to ensure a healthy child in the initial stages of pregnancy.

The next of the stages of pregnancy is the second trimester which starts from the fourth month or the twelfth week. In the initial stages of pregnancy the baby had bones made of cartilage but now they form hard bones and the baby weighs nearly 5 ounces and is five inches in length. It may differ from individual to individual. In this stage of pregnancy the baby acquires facial features like eyebrows and eyelids; it will grow to ten inches in length and start resembling a human child.

In these stages of pregnancy you may have trouble sleeping and your tummy will show a bit but the best part in this stage of pregnancy is that you may feel your baby inside you. In these stages of pregnancy some women need medical attention as they experience hemorrhoids and sinuses problems. In these stages of pregnancy your doctor will examine your health and also listen to the little ones heartbeat to find out if he is in good health.

The trimester is the last of the three stages of pregnancy. The baby is fully grown and you will notice huge changes in your body. Childbirth classes are suggested during the trimester stages of pregnancy because these classes will prepare you for child birth. You will have discomfort in the last stages i.e. eighth month because the child will be around 3-4 pounds and your blood pressure and weight may fluctuate. The doctor may ask you to come weekly for a consultation during the last stages of pregnancy. It is now time for the little one to arrive and it is worth the wait of these 3 stages of pregnancy.
