Swelling Of Feet During Pregnancy – Home Remedies
Swelling of feet during pregnancy is very common problem which is found in pregnant ladies. There are various reasons which lead to this problem. Let us closely analyze the causes for feet swelling. The major reason is fluid retention in the feet and lack of proper blood circulation which leads the feet to swell. Also continuous walking in upright position during pregnancy may also lead to feet swelling. Apart from these some other reasons are:
- High outside temperature may be a small reason
- Enlargement of uterus gives extra pressure to your legs which hinders the proper blood circulation
- Less water intake and more intake of tea and coffee may lead to feet swelling
- Hormonal actions are of course more or less equally responsible
Home remedies
There is no better treatment than exercise for this problem. Regularly doing Yoga has cured this problem for many women, as it enhances the blood flow to all parts of the body. Pranayam is also a good alternative. You can also do simpler exercises like stretching of legs and rotating it as it also improves blood circulation. Some other important factors which should be done are:
- Take proper rest and ensure that you have a proper sleep at the night.
- Light Message of feet and legs help significantly.
- Boil nearly half teaspoon of molasses and one tablespoon of saunf and drink it nearly 2-3 times daily.
- Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol as it may give adverse effect.
- Wear comfortable and loose clothes so that proper air circulation does not get restricted.
- Buttermilk and Vitamin E rich foods are very good for reducing such pains.
- Juice of bitter gourd is also helpful. If the bitter taste is hard to drink add some lime juice in it.
Just do not panic as feet swelling is quite natural during pregnancy…
