How Often Does One Need To Have Sex to Get Pregnant?

This question usually comes into mind of couples who have been trying to conceive.  Couples wonder whether to mate daily, alternate days or only on weekends! When you start feeling this way, the process of making love becomes more of stress than fun.

Actually, the frequency of sex does not matter much unless the male couple has problem in sperm count. Its the timing that matters the most. Mating during the ovulation ( Fertile Period ) is what increases the chances of early pregnancy.

Usually, a healthy couple conceives within 1 to 4 months of unprotected sex. Some experts may say that it can take upto an year but I won’t advise you to wait till then.Its always better to get your tests done when in doubt. ( Disclaimer: I am not a doctor). In most cases, the problem will be minor and treatable. So, don’t be shy to approach Gynecologist.

In almost 40 to 50% cases, the problem will be of hormone imbalance like Hyperprolactinemia, cyst on reproductive track or Less sperm count etc. All these are treatable conditions and such cases must be referred to Doctor asap.
