Problem Of Hip Pain in Pregnancy And CureHip pain at the time of pregnancy is a very common problem. With the growth of baby, you may find growth in intensity of pain also. This could be gentle to harsh. Gentle pain is often ignored but harsh pain can not be ignored as it not only disturbs the sleep but also affect routine activities.

Causes behind hip pain

There are several changes which cause hip pain at the time of pregnancy. Some of those changes are below.

Changes in hormones – There are many hormones which are released at the time of pregnancy by the body. Some hormones such as progesterone help in relaxing the ligaments, joints and muscles of the body. In this procedure joints and muscle tissues get stretched and create hip pain.

Change in structure of body – The continuous change in body structure of pregnant woman can also cause hip pain. The muscles of abdomen stretch and put lots of pressure on hip part and creates hip pain.

Change in posture of body – Due to change in body posture like sitting, walking and bending, it puts lots of additional pressure on lower part. This causes hip pain.

Additional reasons – Hip pain may arise due to mental pressure also. During stress, body muscles become tense and stiff which put pressure on pelvic and hip region.

Cure for hip pain

Heat application – The simplest way to lessen hip pain is heat application over the region. Warm bath is also recommended.

Limit movements – Those activities or movements which encourage pain should be avoided. Walking is good at the time of pregnancy and hence it should be done.

Massage – Massage therapy is also helpful in reducing pain at hip parts. Massage looses the muscles and releases the pain.

Exercise for strengthening of muscle – Exercise which gives support to muscles should be done on regular basis. However you should consult your doctor before doing any exercise.

Support the back – Support your back by placing a pillow between belly and legs. This would help in reducing pain.

You should try to follow the above mentioned points to reduce hip pain at the time of pregnancy.
